It would be a great joke! Without thinking twice, he took a deep breath and yelled, "Wolf! Wolf! Help!"

The townsfolk came running, ready to fight, but there was no wolf. Tim was sitting there, grinning. They were a bit upset, but they thought maybe he just made a mistake. "Tim, did you see a wolf?" asked Mr. Johnson, the blacksmith, his face red from running. Tim said, "Oh, I thought I did, but maybe it was just a shadow or something. Sorry to bother you all." A few days later, Tim was bored again. He did the same thing: "Wolf! Wolf!" They came running again, and again, no wolf. Now, they were starting to get suspicious. "Tim, you can't keep doing this," said Mrs. Miller, the baker, her hands on her hips. Tim apologized, but they didn't believe him anymore.

Then, one day, a real wolf came. It was a big, grey wolf with sharp teeth. Tim saw it and shouted, "Wolf! Wolf! Help!" But this time, no one came. They thought it was just another prank. The wolf killed one sheep and ran off. Tim was devastated, crying because he knew it was his fault. If he hadn't lied before, people would have believed him and come to help.

When the townsfolk found out, they felt bad. "Oh, Tim, we're so sorry," said Mr. Johnson. "We should have believed you." Tim's mom hugged him and said, "It's okay, honey. We all make mistakes." Tim said, "No, it's my fault. I shouldn't have lied before. Now, the sheep is dead because of me."

From that day on, Tim was honest in everything he did. He became known as the most trustworthy person in town. The townsfolk learned to trust him completely, and he never gave them reason to doubt him again. The moral of this story is: always tell the truth.
